January 2017 at Parks and Monuments of Sintra
A new year has come, and despite January being the coldest month of the year, Parks and Monuments of Sintra bring us a programme bulging with activities for the whole family.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH
January 29th, Monserrate Farm: Première of the activity “It's certainly the Saloia Farm”. Come and discover how life used to be in the rural Saloia region. Learn to make bread in the traditional way and enjoy an authentic afternoon in the countryside.
January 14th, National Palace of Queluz: Take part in the “Journey to the 18th Century Court House”, and discover the Palace's nooks and crannies through period history and music.
January 22nd, National Palace of Sintra: “The King's Treasure”, an activity for those who like to solve mysteries with the family.
January 21st, Tapada of Monserrate: “From the park to Tapada: nature in Sintra and Mafra”, a trip for the whole family that links Sintra to Mafra and allows one to discover the diversity of these areas' ecosystems.
On January 28th, Palace of Monserrate has various specially activities planned for the general public:
- “Feel the Heritage - Discovering Monserrate Park through Sensations”, a visit destined for blind or visually impaired visitors who can discover all the sensations that Gardens of Monserrate have to offer through hearing, smell and touch.
- “Gardens of Monserrate without Barriers”, a special visit for people with limited mobility.
- “Heritage in Gestures”, a special visit for the hearing impaired, with the activity interpreted in Portuguese Sign Language.
Every Saturday, Tapada of D. Fernando II: “There Are Donkeys Here!”, invites children and adults to get to know this docile animal, and gives them, at the end, a pleasant trip through the Forest of Sintra.
THE PORTUGUESE SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART
January 2nd and 31st, Henrique Calado Riding Ring: Presentations from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.
January 27th, Henrique Calado Riding Ring: Gala of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.
