A box office hit, GREASE defined an entire generation, changed the approach to musical comedies and inspired many musicals that came after it. Set in California in the late 1950s and early 1960s, against the backdrop of the behaviour of young people at the time, it tells the story of Danny and Sandy, two students who have a summer romance but are separated because she has to return to Australia. However, plans change, and Sandy ends up enrolling at Danny's school. From this moment on, anything can happen, and love will ultimately prevail, but not before the young people go through some turbulence. The happy ending melts hearts, and the irreverent humour, characteristic of youth, makes this plot a classic that has spanned generations and continues to be staged in countless theatres across the US.
On 8 and 9 November, the Yellow Star Company brings GREASE – the Musical back into the spotlight, directed by Paulo Sousa Costa, at the Salão Preto e Prata in Casino Estoril.
